High 5!
1.
We got the best media referrals this week! They are actually for the
neighboring area but it has no missionaries so we get to teach them for now!
Tina requested a Book of Mormon on Facebook and Regina and Daniel are a young
couple who visited Salt Lake City recently and went on a tour at Temple Square.
Both, so prepared!
2.
Stake Conference for Los Lunas was this weekend! It was really good and my
thoughts today will come from a couple of the talks :)
3.
Bishop's daughter was baptized this weekend! We took and investigator and got
to go! She is the cutest and it was a really spiritual baptism!
4.
We were invited to a luncheon this weekend with a member and his non member
family! They asked us a lot of questions and were softened by the time we left!
It was cool! Nick, is the member and always comes out with us and he is going
on a mission in 6 months! We are excited for him!
5.
We got to go to a wedding reception of someone who used to be in the branch.
Jennifer and Warren came with us and it was a good time :)
Down Low, 2 Slow!
1.
Dennis finally got Sundays off! We were stoked, until we taught him the word of
wisdom and the law of chastity...he isn't responding now. PLEASE pray for him.
He knows this is true.
2.
We were fed chicken gizzards this week. We have a good video but it's too big
to send.
The
visiting General Authority gave an awesome talk at stake conference centered on
the scripture in Matthew 25:40. "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye
have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me."
He
told a story of how his wife loves bird watching. One afternoon, a cedar wax
wing was in their yard and accidentally flew into one of their windows. The
bird was injured, and of course, the wife was upset. She was on her way to run
an errand so quickly made him a nest in hopes that with time, the bird would
heal. After she left, the husband went downstairs and offered a simple prayer
for the injured bird. He told Heavenly Father that he know He was busy but in
behalf of his wife, asked him to heal the bird. He went upstairs just in time
to watch the bird fly away, completely healed! Grateful, he went back
downstairs to offer another prayer of thanks for the tender mercy. After
closing his prayer, a voice came to him and said, "You are welcome, but
would you have done the same had it been a sparrow?"
He
was taught a powerful yet simple lesson. Heavenly Father loves all of His
children and asks us to ponder, who is the least among me? How can I reach out
to them?
It
is our duty to raise the clarion call of the gospel. It is the only place we
can find lasting peace, happiness and fulfillment. If not you, then who? If not
now, then when? Those who are lost are likely to remain lost until you step in.
We
are all in need of the same Savior, Jesus Christ. I know He is there for us,
and especially for the least of us.
I
love you all! God speed!
Love,
Sister Bowen
